For the first time, the American company Ford has released the best-selling model in the automotive industry, the Focus. For 10 years, the car has gained popularity and took the position of the TOP-10 among the best cars.
Ford Focus I replaced the Escort Vee II car. The lineup included options: hatchback, station wagon and sedan. But the American market can only boast of complete sets with gasoline installations, with a volume of 2.0 - 2.3 liters with a power of 110 - 172 hp. The first restyling was carried out in 2001, which affected changes in the headlights, bumper, radiator grille, navigation system, climate control, seat adjustment and additional sets of options.
The Ford Focus II has been produced since 2004, based on the Ford-C1 platform. Visually, the car looks more solid than the first generation: it is wider, the body is longer, the wheelbase and track are increased, the cabin is spacious for everyone. Modifications were presented: Ambient, Trend, Comfort, Gia, Gia SE, Titanium and Titanium-SE. In 2008, they made another restyling: they updated the bumper and spoiler, changed the shape of the rear-view mirrors, the embossed hood and highlighted the wheel arches. The changes also affected the interior. Engine options remain the same.
The third generation replaced all possible car options in different markets around the world and made its debut in Detroit. The main changes affected the engines, the model was equipped with motors from EcoBoost SCTi and a six-speed gearbox. Among the changes, one can single out an electric booster, airbags and various systems developed that help and facilitate driving. In 2014, the car was officially demonstrated after restyling:
- externally, the changes affected - the radiator grille, light, bumper, hood and trunk lid;
- inside replaced the heated steering wheel, torpedo, center and floor console.
The engines were supplemented with new 1.6 liter variants, the power of which was 120 hp.
Ford Focus IV generation was shown in 2018, the model is being produced to this day. The car is based on the C2 platform, where it became possible to organize a panoramic roof. The model is equipped only with three-cylinder petrol and four-cylinder diesel engines that meet the EURO 6.2 standards, both with a manual and an automatic transmission. In 2019, they presented a model with a hybrid (petrol-electric) turbo engine with a volume of 1 liter.
