Information on repair and maintenance of Mercedes-Benz E klass cars electronically

Mercedes-Benz E-classe began to be produced in 1993, and today the class has 5 generations. The letter "E" is derived from the word Einspritzung - fuel injection. E-class cars are found both on gasoline and diesel, and on gas, and hybrids, among various body modifications: sedan, station wagon, coupe, convertible. In addition to Germany, factories are located in China, India and other countries.

The first generation W124 was developed by designer B. Sacco in 1984, which replaced the successful model W123 and 190. Initially, they released a station wagon on diesel, then on gasoline. Then the sedan debuted. In 1992, the convertible returned to production, after a 20-year hiatus.

The second generation W210 repeated some of the geometry of the previous version, but at the same time it was completely different. For the first time, they used rack and pinion steering, installed a parktronic system. The cars were completed in versions: classic, elegance and avant-garde (sport). The first breakthrough came with the replacement of in-line 6-cylinder engines with aluminum V6s. Soon there was a second progress - diesel engines were equipped with Common Rail.

The third generation W211 debuted in 2002: the car became larger, there was more space in the cabin. More options were installed in the cars, but the configuration did not change. The most popular were diesel variants E200 and E220, E270 and E320, in addition to all they were economical.

The third generation was overhauled in 2006. The grille, bumper, side mirrors and taillights have been updated in the form of a new form. The model is equipped with the latest technology in electronics. Inline engines were replaced with V-shaped ones, with new diesel steels E280 and E320, and gasoline ones were replaced with updated versions of E230 and 350.

The premiere of the fourth generation W212 took place in 2009. The model was equipped with the best safety system, an active hood for pedestrian protection, driver control and all modern electronics.

The 5th generation W213 is still in production today. The dimensions have increased, and the options have expanded accordingly: a remote parking control system, a digital key, an adaptive LED matrix. The engine range has certainly been updated and improved, and is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Initially, the models were equipped with a 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine: on gasoline it produced 184 hp, on diesel - 195 hp. Over time, the line was supplemented with diesel options, with a capacity of 150 hp. (4 cylinders) and 258 hp. (6 cylinders); the petrol versions developed 240 and 330 hp. respectively. Today, a hybrid modification is available for sale, which includes a four-cylinder engine and an electric motor, producing 286 hp.

E-classe cars have become one of the most demanded and sold for the entire production of Mercedes-Benz. In 2015, sales exceeded 13 million models.

They are increasingly seen on the roads and highways, which means more and more drivers are asking themselves the question of self-service cars, timely diagnostics, and sometimes repairs. Replacing any part will require knowledge:
