Repair and service Maxus cars in the eBook
Maxus is a light delivery vehicle produced by the English company LVD Group Limited. The car brand provided for a whole range of cars, both in various categories by weight from 2.8 to 3.5 tons, and in different wheelbase lengths: 3.1 and 3.85 meters.
The Maxus car brand has replaced the old-fashioned rear-wheel drive cars LDV Pilot and Convoy. It was developed jointly with Daewoo Motor, and it was assumed that the car production will be in Lublin, at the Daewoo plant. But since Daewoo soon went bankrupt, it was bought by General Motors Corporation, LVD retained all the authority and rights to manufacture Maxus.
The production of the Maxus model range of cars began in 2004, and the next year the transport equipment entered the English car market. The machines were appreciated by the Royal Postal Service, the British Police, which made up a significant proportion of consumers. British experts nominated the brand with the 2005 Van of the Year award. The demand for cars has grown, and they even began to export them to Turkey, France, Russia.
In 2008, due to the crisis and financial problems among the population, the demand for vans fell, and LVD was forced to stop production. The Russian company GAZ Group, which bought the shares, was not able to invest a lot. For several years, GAZ invested $ 100 million, but did not fulfill its plan for the volume of 15 thousand cars a year; facing bankruptcy, LVD announced its closure. The company no longer exists as a European manufacturer.
The production facilities were completely acquired by the SAIC automobile company. The Chinese dismantled all the equipment and conveyors at a plant in the UK and transported it for production to an existing plant in Shanghai. And already in April 2011, they presented a new lineup of LCVs, and a little later, the production of minibuses and vans began under their own brand Maxus-Datong V80, which includes 24 versions of cars, in 96 designs.
While still an English brand, Maxus was equipped with various cab options, on-board platforms, specialized refrigerated versions and a reanimobile were also produced. The engines belonged to the development of the Italian company VM Motori, the volume of which was 2.5 liters, and the power reached about 100-120 horsepower. The basic configurations were equipped with air conditioning and audio systems.
Before the closure of the company, Maxus cars had 87 modifications, of which 51 modifications were updated:
- full metal van - 39 modifications were produced with various options for the cargo compartment;
- the chassis with a three-seater cab had 9 variants of machines;
- chassis with a double six-seater cab was produced in 3 modifications;
- the onboard minibus had 9 types;
- the minibus consisted of 12 varieties;
- The combi was presented in 12 model variants.
The closure of manufacturing plants in Europe does not mean that you will not find Maxus cars on sale and on the road, which need the same maintenance and repairs as the rest of the vans. And vehicle owners want to understand the main issues:
- how to change oil;
- how to repair the chassis;
- how to find and fix the problem.
