The DAF XF105 is the successor to the DAF XF95, which features a completely new look and a more powerful Euro 5 engine. Although the DAF XF95 was already renowned for its ergonomics, this model has been further improved.
The DAF XF105 debuted at the Amsterdam show in October 2005. It entered series production in 2006, replacing the DAF XF95 series.
This model was recognized as "Truck of the Year 2007" by an international jury of experts. This was the fourth time that DAF has won this prestigious title. It happened at the 61st IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover.
The DAF XF105 features a more comfortable redesigned cab and more fuel efficient and cleaner Paccar MX engines.
These engines have a volume of 12.9 dm³ and a maximum power of 410, 460 and 510 hp. Thanks to the use of SCRs, they comply with Euro 4 or Euro 5. Like previous engines, they have 4 valves per cylinder, turbocharging and charge air cooling.
The engines use PLD single-section injection pumps with an overpressure from 1500 to 2000 bar. This eliminates the need for a particulate filter in the exhaust system. The engine's service life is estimated at 1.6 million km. The XF105 engines do have relatively high torque.
A sixteen-speed manual transmission is used as standard, & nbsp; the automated AS-Tronic option is also available.
DAF XF 105 was produced with cabins:
- Space Cab - internal height of the driver's cab is 1885 mm, the height of the upper position is 2050 × 600 mm;
- Super Space Cab - internal cabin height 2255 mm, overhead area 2000 × 700 mm (this is the largest cabin in Europe, which differs from other cabins in terms of internal equipment).
The width (2490 mm) and length (2250 mm) of the cabin of these cabins do not differ. The size of the bottom bed is also the same - 2010 × 810 mm.
The dashboard is richly decorated - like aluminum or wood.
