Information on repair and maintenance of Chrysler Voyager cars electronically

The Chrysler Voyager is a large passenger car produced by the American automobile manufacturer Chrysler. It was one of the first high-end minivans on the world market. It was first introduced in 1983 as the Plymouth Voyager and Dodge Caravan and became a Chrysler marque for the European market only from 1988.

This is one of the largest minivans on the market, having a huge trunk, which, even with all the seats occupied, is able to fit up to 934 liters of luggage (in the Chrysler Grand Voyage). And with the two rear rows of seats folded down, the trunk volume increases to 3912 liters.

In addition to being very large, the car has always been very comfortable and versatile (it is one of the few minivans equipped with an automatic electric sliding tailgate opening).

Turbo-diesel versions have gained a lot of popularity, petrol versions are rare and have been sold in a few hundred, considering the sum of sales of all generations.

The first generation did not differ in special “nimbleness”, from standstill to 100 km / h the car accelerates in 12.7-15.2 seconds. The maximum speed that the car can develop is 154-180 km / h. One of the disadvantages of the first generation Chrysler Voyager is its high fuel consumption, which in the combined cycle is 10.6-12.1 liters of fuel per hundred kilometers.

The second generation was introduced in November 1990 (as model year 1991). Compared to its predecessor, the car has noticeably changed both externally and internally, the front and rear, dashboard and seats are different.

It has also become better in technical terms - the car is equipped with more powerful engines, and an important innovation is taking place on the engine side, a 2.5-liter turbodiesel with a capacity of 115 hp appears.

In 1996 (in the USA - 1995), the third generation of Chrysler Voyager appeared. Chrysler engineers started from scratch to develop this new model, with the exception of engines and gearboxes.

This generation is characterized by improved visibility, trouble-free directional stability despite the rear axle moldboards, van-like roominess with the rear seats removed, and very good corrosion resistance. Rear sliding doors (with fixed windows). Air conditioning is standard.

The fourth-generation Chrysler Voyager minivan, which surpassed its predecessor in every way, was presented to the public at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) on January 10, 2000, and production began in the summer of 2000.

This model has both a large number of advantages, including a reliable design and a roomy interior, and some disadvantages, including high fuel consumption and cheap interior decoration.

In the summer of 2007, the fifth generation Chrysler Voyager (2008 model year) appeared. The model acquired a new exterior and interior design, became even more practical and functional, and also received upgraded equipment.
