Information on repair and maintenance of Moskvich 2141 cars electronically

Moskvich-2141 is a vehicle produced between 1986 and 2002 at AZLK (Lenin Komsomol Automobile Plant). This is the third car in its class from the manufacturer, which was produced with a hatchback body type.

At the beginning of the release, the model did not become the owner of its own engines; Muscovites installed the engine from the previous generation of the car.

In 1997, the car was upgraded. So, the model became the owner of a new front part and an imported engine from Renault. At the same time, Moskvich-2141 became known as Svyatogor. At the same time, there were also such indices: “2141-02”, “-45”, “-00”, “-22, 23, 24, 25”. Together with Svyatogor, they also produced a simplified version of Moskvich-2141-01. Distinctive features of the car was the absence of a direction indicator on the wings and a rear-view mirror on the right door. However, some cars were equipped with the Lucas brake system and other imported parts from Svyatogor.

In the spring of 2002, the conveyor on which the car was assembled stopped. However, even after the AZLK plant ceased operation, Moskvich-2141 and a pickup truck based on it continued to produce for another year, until 2003. It was produced at third-party enterprises and about 800 thousand copies were produced.

If we talk about the characteristic features of the entire Moskvich-2141 family, then they include:

  • increased interior and trunk size;
  • efficient interior heating system;
  • simple steering and good handling.

Moskvich-2141 was distinguished by better cross-country ability on snow-covered roads, in relation to other Soviet-made passenger models.

The default of the 90s made it impossible to equip Svyatogor with a Renault engine. Along with this, the supply of VAZ and UZAM engines was also unstable.

The company was forced to constantly reduce the production of the car. Along with this, she sold her production lines to other enterprises. And by 2000, about 9 thousand unsold vehicles had accumulated in the parking lot, many of which were incomplete.

In 2001, the production volume amounted to only 800 cars. But for profitability, it had to be more than 40 thousand copies a year. And as a result, in the spring of 2002, AZLK ceased to exist forever.
