Information on repair and maintenance of Volkswagen Bora cars electronically

Volkswagen Bora is one of the sedans from the famous Volkswagen concern. The release of this car falls on the period from 1998 to 2005, and the predecessor of the model was the Volkswagen Vento. The Volkswagen Bora was presented to the world in the spring of 1998. And the name itself, if translated from Italian, means “cold wind that blows from the mainland to the Adriatic in winter”. Serial production started a year later, in 1999. And the model was supplied to the American market under the name Volkswagen Jetta IV.

In 1999, the Variant station wagon was presented, but after five years its production was discontinued.

The Golf IV became the platform for the Volkswagen Bora. However, there is practically no external similarity. Volkswagen Bora has become larger, and this has increased the volume of the trunk to 455 liters. The Bora model received updated headlights, hood, fenders, grille and bumpers.

If we talk about engines, then in this case, the engine line included seven options, five of which were gasoline and two turbodiesels.

As for the gasoline engines, their volumes ranged from 1.6 liters to 2.8 liters, and the power ranged from 100 to 204 horsepower.

Both turbodiesels have the same volume, which is 1.9 liters, but their power is different - 90 and 115 horsepower.

In addition to the basic version, the Volkswagen Bora was offered in three more variants:

  • sports car - Bora Trendline;
  • luxury car - Bora Comfortline;
  • the car for the most pretentious buyers - Bora Highline.

If you still go back to the base model, then the standard equipment included: power steering and steering column with the ability to adjust the reach and tilt; tinted glass; central locking and height adjustment of the driver's seat.

The manufacturer did not forget about the safety of the car. Therefore, the body was additionally reinforced in the most vulnerable places. So, in the case of an accident, the energy is partially absorbed by the longitudinal bars, while the interior remains practically

whole. In addition, the models began to be equipped with two front airbags and pyrotechnic emergency tensioners for front seat belts.

Volkswagen Bora was produced as front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. In the latter case, the car was designated 4Motion. Four-wheel drive provides the driver with better vehicle handling, especially on wet and slippery roads.

In 2005, the production of the Volkswagen Bora was discontinued in Europe, and the Jetta V replaced the car. As for other markets, the Bora continued to be produced, but under the name Volkswagen Jetta IV, and in 2008 the model was updated.

If we talk about the relevance of repair work and other manipulations, then while cars are found on the roads, their owners need vehicle maintenance. One option is to visit a service station.
