Information on repair and maintenance of Subaru XV cars electronically

Subaru XV is a C-segment SUV produced by Japanese manufacturer Subaru since 2011. It appeared on the European market in January 2012. The Subaru XV is developed on the same platform as the fourth generation Subaru Impreza. It is very similar in appearance and overall sporty settings, but still has a greater ground clearance (22 cm).

Aesthetically, it features a five-door hatchback, similar to the third-generation Subaru Impreza, with a raised position, wide wheel arches, flared plastic trims in a contrasting color to the bodywork that extend to the underside of the vehicle along the sides and front and rear bumpers.

The Subaru XV is a crossover SUV that combines high ground clearance, large wheels and the off-road performance of a city car. It is powered by the latest generation of boxer petrol or diesel engines and has the typical Subaru permanent all-wheel drive system called Symmetric All-Wheel Drive.

Despite this, it has a very low center of gravity in its category thanks to the use of a boxer engine located low in the engine compartment, which provides greater lateral stability compared to traditional in-line V-engines.

These solutions allow the Subaru XV to have a symmetrical mechanical arrangement and a very low center of gravity. This means less roll, less "torque" (ie, the change in steering angle during acceleration caused by harsh torque transmission from the engine), less engine vibration that does not require a balance shaft.

The high ground clearance, similar to that of SUVs, makes it easier to enter the cabin, and the high driver's position provides greater safety and visibility when driving around the city.

The trunk volume with all the seats involved is 380 liters, and when the rear sofa is folded down, it becomes 1270 liters. The tank holds 60 liters of fuel.

The entire Subaru XV range is equipped as standard with the latest generation of the "Dynamic Chassis Control Concept" chassis, the latest technology developed by the Japanese manufacturer. The combination of four-wheel drive with a low center of gravity of the boxer engine guarantees high stability and safety on the road.

In the spring of 2016, the model underwent a cosmetic and mechanical update.

Outside, there are changes such as:

  • new LED taillights with new interior texture and ice color instead of red;
  • new bumpers with increased air intake;
  • more protection from raw plastic;
  • new housing for fog lamps surrounded by an inverted L chrome
  • a new wheel alloy with a similar texture but with turbine-style spokes compared to the previous parallel design wheels.

In July 2017, the second generation was presented, based on a new platform called the Subaru Global Platform and on the modern generation of the two-volume five-door Subaru Impreza, presented at the Geneva Motor Show that same year.

Any car, including a relatively young car like the Subaru XV, requires maintenance. This will ensure maximum safety and extend the service life.

If you do not intend to constantly visit the service station, but want to do everything yourself, then first of all you will need a special manual for the repair and operation of the car.
