It was renewed in 2002, but this time engineers from General Motors joined the Russian developers. The new car was called Chevrolet Niva, and the old model was Lada 4x4.
2009 was marked by the release of the second generation "Niva" - VAZ-21214. The designers have improved the suspension, clutches, brake pads. In 2014, they released an improved version - Urban. The new model included improved noise insulation, new bumpers. The steering wheel has been downsized, the grille has been replaced, air conditioning has been added, and power mirrors and power windows have been installed.
The third generation was released in 2020 and was called Lada 4x4 FL. The new model was distinguished by a new interior, and Lada Urban received an updated bumper and fog lights. The steering wheel was replaced with a copy from the Zhiguli model. Later the name of this car was changed to LADA Niva Legend.
