Information on repair and maintenance of Fiat Ulysse cars electronically

The Fiat Ulysse is a large minivan produced between 1994 and 2010 for two generations as part of a joint project between the PSA Group and Fiat. The first generation was produced from 1994 to 2002, and the second generation from 2002 to 2010. In 2022, Fiat launched the new E-Ulysse, an electric minivan, a variant of the Fiat Scudo van.

The first generation Fiat Ulysse, Citroën Evasion, Lancia Zeta and Peugeot 806 were introduced in 1994 and received a slight facelift in 1998. The only difference between the models is the level of equipment, as well as small cosmetic details in the front and rear to better match the manufacturers of other models.

The first partial restyling of the Fiat Ulysse, like all other twins under different brands, concerned only a slightly rounded front end and was characterized by lighting equipment and a radiator grille taken from the Fiat Scudo commercial car.

With the restyling of 1998, some engines were discontinued, replaced by more powerful units with lower fuel consumption. The new 2.0 16V engine was available in both 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic. All powertrains were produced by PSA.

The second generation of models was introduced in 2002. The principle was the same: flexible and roomy minibuses at a reasonable price. However, Citroën, Lancia and Peugeot changed their model names to C8, Phedra and 807. Fiat Ulysse was allowed to keep its name until the model was discontinued in 2010.

One of the most important changes was to lengthen the body by 27 cm compared to the first version to provide a surprisingly spacious interior and the development of a mechanical platform. Compared to the project of the early nineties, this new series differs from its cousins with a completely new design, characterized by vertical taillights inspired by the first generation compact Fiat Punto.

The Fiat Ulysse boasts good versatility with seven seats (but 6 and 8 seat versions are also available) and two rows of removable rear seats to increase trunk capacity. The engine range includes a 2.0 HDI diesel, renamed Multijet, in 120 and 136 hp variants, the latter with an active particulate filter (FAP), and a 170 hp 2.2 biturbo diesel.

In January 2008, an updated version of the Fiat Ulysse debuted, featuring new interior trims and fabrics, two new exterior colors (grey and blue) and, above all, a new 2.2 Multijet engine with particulate filter developed by PSA and available with a 6-speed gearbox, both automatic and mechanical.
