Information on repair and maintenance of Toyota Verso cars electronically

Toyota Verso is a van produced by Toyota from the spring of 2009 to the summer of 2018. It is based on the Toyota Avensis platform and replaces the Toyota Corolla Spacio/Corolla Verso and Toyota Avensis Verso in the model range. Depending on the equipment, it can accommodate up to seven people. This car offers reliability, practicality and economy. Main competitors include Renault Grand Scénic, Mazda 5 and Ford C-MAX.

The Toyota Verso was first presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2009. The design is adapted to current Toyota models such as the Avensis or iQ.

Dimensions and wheelbase are only slightly larger than the Toyota Corolla Spacio/Verso. The front end features a slatted grille, different headlights and air intakes, and a more contoured hood.

The front fenders are even more clearly defined, while the side window areas and roof contour remain virtually unchanged. The side view is crossed by a striking curved light edge that starts at the front door sill and ends at the edge of the rear roof spoiler. Like the previous model, the rear features silver taillights and a wider rear window.

The interior of the Toyota Verso is based on the Toyota Avensis. The central ventilation nozzles and instruments, which are now placed in the middle and directed towards the driver, are located in an unusual way.

Toyota Verso length – 4440 mm, width – 1790, height – 1620; wheelbase – 2780 mm. Five adults and two children, taking with them everything they need, will be able to feel comfortable. With all seats in place, the 7-seater minivan's trunk volume is just 155 liters, while with the rear seats folded down, the trunk volume increases to a respectable 1,645 liters. The 5-seater trunk, of course, is more spacious: from 440 to 1690 liters.

At the beginning of the summer of 2013, a modified version of the Toyota Verso entered the market with a visually significantly redesigned and modernized front end. The car is now based on the second generation Toyota Auris. The rear, however, has been changed only slightly, and technically the Toyota Verso remains virtually unchanged.

The all-new engines have been developed to reduce fuel consumption and pollutant emissions to the lowest possible levels, in full compliance with Toyota Optimal Drive technology. In particular, common rail turbodiesels are equipped as standard with an active particulate filter and much more precise piezoelectric injectors compared to previous engines equipped with electromagnetic injectors.

The car could also be combined with a new sequential automatic transmission with a 2.2 D-CAT 16V engine producing 150 horsepower and complying with Euro 5 anti-pollution regulations. Instead, the powerful 2.2 engine with 177 horsepower is equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox and 400 Nm of maximum torque. The small 2-litre D-4D engine has been redesigned and upgraded from the unit found in the Toyota Corolla Verso by 10 horsepower and is re-approved to Euro 5 thanks to a standard DPF.

The all-new Valvematic petrol engines use Dual Variable Valve Timing (Dual VVT-I), which improves engine response and reduces fuel consumption. The small 1.6 engine produces 132 horsepower, while the 1.8 engine produces 147 horsepower. The latter is available both with a 6-speed manual transmission and in combination with the continuously variable Multitronic S automatic transmission with a choice of 7 gears in sequential mode. Unlike diesel engines, gasoline engines comply with the Euro 4 standard.

Since 2014, Toyota has also introduced the BMW-based 1.6 D-4D diesel engine with 112 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque. Compared to the 2.0 D-4D, the new engine loses a little more than a dozen horsepower (112 hp instead of 126) and a little torque (270 Nm instead of 310).

It is important to note that not all types of repair work can be performed without special tools and experience. Some complex or safe jobs are best left to professionals. However, knowing the basic principles and being able to perform simple technical tasks can be beneficial for car owners.
