Information on repair and maintenance of Toyota Prius cars electronically

Toyota Prius is a model of Toyota hybrid vehicles produced since 1997. The car is produced in the usual version of Hybrid and Plug-in-Hybrid, charged from a regular outlet. The name of the model comes from the Latin word "prius", which means "before something", "is in front". Originally a 4-door sedan, it has been produced as a 5-door hatchback since 2003.

Toyota debuted its hybrid concept car at the 1995 Tokyo Motor Show. The first Toyota Prius, the NHW10, went on sale in December 1997. It was officially sold only in Japan, although it was partially imported into some countries.

The first-generation Toyota Prius, when launched, became the world's first mass-produced gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle. The styling of the Toyota Prius NHW10 was developed by designers from California, selected in a design studio competition.

The Toyota Prius NHW11 has been made more powerful to meet some of the high speed and long distance needs. Air conditioning and electric power steering became part of the basic configuration, and the car itself could already accommodate five passengers.

In 2004, the Toyota Prius was completely redesigned and became a mid-size hatchback. The interior space has also been refurbished, since then the car has much more legroom for the rear passengers as well as for the luggage compartment.

The Toyota Prius is the first in the industry to use an all-electric A / C compressor for refrigeration. The smaller and lighter XW20 NiMH batteries are more powerful and efficient than the XW10.

In January 2009, the new Toyota Prius (ZVW30) debuted at the North American International Auto Show, and sales in Japan began on May 18, 2009. The chassis has been retained, and the rest has changed substantially.

The fourth generation Toyota Prius was first unveiled in September 2015 in Las Vegas. Its sales in Japan began in December 2015, in the US in January 2016, and in February of the same year in Europe.

As soon as the 4th generation Toyota Prius was presented in showrooms, Toyota's hybrid synergistic drive was announced, which has the best fuel economy, as well as greater chassis rigidity, improved interior design and equipment, improved driving performance, good sound insulation.

The fourth generation Toyota Prius is more accurate than the previous generation - less body roll when cornering, faster response, and improved steering. At the same time, the effective engine power has slightly decreased compared to the previous generation, and the acceleration time to 96.5 km / h remains the same for about 10 seconds. Brake pedal responsiveness is improved, thin tires with low rolling resistance give long braking distances on both surfaces.
