Information on repair and maintenance of Toyota Auris cars electronically

The Toyota Auris is a C-segment passenger car produced by the Japanese manufacturer Toyota since 2006. The name Auris comes from the Latin aurum, which translates as "gold".

In fact, the model, unveiled at the September 2006 Paris Motor Show, was first launched in early 2007. It began to have great sales success, so much so that Toyota decided to sell it also in some global markets, such as Japan, where it was sold alongside the Toyota Blade, without competing with the new Toyota Corolla series launched at the same time.

The Toyota Auris is a two-volume, three- or five-door hatchback that replaces the Toyota Corolla in Europe. At the same time, the Toyota Corolla remains produced on the same platform, with a special three-volume body.

The Toyota Auris platform is completely new compared to the Toyota Corolla and uses MacPherson suspension at the front and classic interlocking wheel configuration at the rear for less powerful engines, while multiple levers are available for the 2.2-liter diesel engine (Multilink).

Model available with 4-cylinder petrol engines:

  • 1.4-liter petrol with a maximum power of 97 hp;
  • 1.6-liter 132 hp;
  • 1.8-liter, exclusively for sale in the Pacific Ocean, 136 hp;
  • 2.4-liter 168 hp engine;
  • 3.5-liter V6 with 280 hp

At that time, diesel engines were also used, both with turbocharging and a common rail system:

  • 1.4-liter 90 HP;
  • 2.0-liter 126 hp

The Toyota Auris is offered worldwide in ten different colors, mostly shades of gray. Tire offer is very wide, there are different sizes and designs.

In the first months of 2010, a new Toyota Auris model entered the market, with some details changed, it became more sporty with smoky headlights, a new radiator grille and bumper with a new design, and a rear end equipped with new headlights and bumpers. Noteworthy is the entry into the Toyota Auris range of the HSD hybrid version.

Toyota Auris has been awarded 5 stars in EuroNCAP safety tests. He received 35 points out of 37 possible. The standard equipment includes the following active and passive safety elements:

The second Toyota Auris series was unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show and is completely different from the old series.

Due to commercial failure, the 3-door variant was never revived, but since 2013 Toyota has returned to the mid-size station wagon segment with the Toyota Auris Touring Sports.

The rest of the hybrid version remained on the market. From the end of 2012 it is available in a 5-door version, and from the end of 2013 the Toyota Auris Hybrid is also available in a station wagon body.
