The cars are equipped with modern M200XDi diesel engines and G2.3 gasoline engines (under license from Mercedes-Benz). The diesel engine from Europe develops 104 kW (141 hp) at 4000 rpm. and has a torque of 310 Nm at 2700 rpm. For the 2.3-litre petrol engine the corresponding figures are 110 kW (150 hp) at 5500 rpm and 214 Nm at 4500 rpm.
The chassis is a three-layer, independent spar-type structure, which makes it possible to open the door without jamming it even when tilted diagonally. The rear suspension is made in the form of a multi-link design with a Panhard rod and a continuous axle.
The vehicle's payload capacity is 705 kg, of which 370 are in the cargo compartment. The maximum pulling force reaches 2.3 tons. These indicators, although they do not make the SsangYong Actyon a powerful SUV, do distinguish it with its cargo practicality.
The car is equipped with dual front airbags, electronic stability control and an ISOFIX child seat mounting system. Basic equipment includes Bluetooth connectivity, air conditioning, steering wheel controls, fog lights, heated seats, cruise control and central locking. The luggage compartment, measuring 1600 mm wide, 1275 mm long and 525 mm deep, is lined with durable material and equipped with four mounting points.
In addition, there is a high-quality audio system with six speakers. Among the additional options, you can choose the ESP dynamic stabilization system, leather interior trim, a rear friction differential and a proprietary alarm system.
Based on the crossover, an all-wheel drive SsangYong Actyon Sports pickup truck was created, which inherited the front part of the body and units, including engines and gearbox, from its predecessor. However, it now has a separate cargo compartment, available in two versions: regular and with a special add-on (optional). The wheelbase of the SsangYong Actyon Sports pickup truck has increased by 320 mm, and the overall length, thanks to the trunk, has increased by 510 mm. These changes resulted in a slight increase in rear overhang and a decrease in departure angle. In technical terms, there have also been major changes.
In 2013, the SsangYong Actyon SUV was restyled, as a result of which the car acquired an appearance in the style of the updated Actyon Sports pickup truck.
