Information on repair and maintenance of Seat Altea cars electronically

Seat Altea is a compact van developed by the Spanish company SEAT and produced from 2004 to 2015. The model was named after the municipality of Altea and was developed under the direction of designer Walter de Silva. The Seat Altea is a five-seater family car with a sporty image and was built on the A5 (PQ35) platform of Volkswagen AG.

The Seat Altea was first presented to the public as a prototype in 2003. At the 2003 European Motor Show in Brussels, then SEAT design chief Walter de'Silva received the Association of European Designers award for the design of the Seat Altea prototype in the concept car category.

With the Seat Altea, the future design characteristics of Seat models were presented to the public for the first time. This includes the distinctive lynx-eyed front end and the large grille with the Seat logo surrounded by chrome. This also includes side lines starting from the front spoiler and rising above the wings, which are intended to express SEAT's concept of auto emoción. Following the unveiling of a production model at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show that closely resembled the concept car, the Seat Altea received the "red dot: best of the best" award in the vehicle category for outstanding design quality.

Important design features of the Seat Altea are the "vertical parking" windshield wipers, which can be hidden in the A-pillars. However, it is worth noting that the massive A-pillars create “blind spots” in the driver’s field of vision.

In terms of safety, the Seat Altea received five stars in the Euro NCAP rating. The model came in various trim levels, including Essence, Reference, Reference Sport, Stylance, Sport and FR. A wide range of petrol and diesel engines and a variety of transmission options, including manual and automatic, were also available.

The redesign of the Seat Altea in 2009 brought important changes to the car, including appearance, equipment and quality of materials in the cabin. Models released after the redesign received an updated interior design and additional features. The updated interior has become higher quality thanks to the use of better materials, as well as updated switches, instruments and steering wheel.

The car was sold in several trim levels including Essence, Reference, Reference Sport, Stylance, Sport and FR to suit the different needs of buyers. Here are the main characteristics of some of them:

  1. Essence:Equipped with power steering, air conditioning, CD stereo, power front windows, remote locking and adjustable driver's seat.
  2. Stylance:Includes additional options such as power side mirrors, climate control, steering wheel-mounted stereo controls, cruise control, 16-inch alloy wheels, a power-adjustable front passenger seat and higher quality materials in salon
  3. Sport:Includes stability control, 5-spoke wheels, sports seats and suspension, which gives the car a more sporty character.
  4. FR:Offers more advanced options, including an electronic stability program, dual-zone climate control, 17-inch alloy wheels, special bumpers and dual chrome exhaust tips. The car is also equipped with safety systems, including six airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), emergency brake assist (EBD) and traction control (ESP).

The Seat Altea has been designed to combine style, comfort and safety, making it an attractive choice for many buyers, especially families, and providing a wide range of options to suit the different needs of owners.
