Information on repair and maintenance of Opel Mokka cars electronically

The German automobile concern Opel in 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show presented the Opel Mokka mini crossover (from the name of the Arabic coffee variety) to the whole world. Sold in the UK as the Vauxhall Mokka, in China and the USA as the Buick Encore. Since 2016 it is called Opel Mokka X.

The Mokka is based on the GM Gamma II platform. The standard equipment of the model is front-wheel drive, more premium configurations are equipped with all-wheel drive. The car is equipped with a smart 4x4 system: if the car slips or skids, 50% of the torque is transferred to the rear axle. The size of the rims can vary depending on the configuration, but most use R16. Equipped with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

In Europe, cars were equipped with different engine options:

  • petrol - turbocharged 1.4-liter A14NET, with an operating power of 140 horsepower or naturally aspirated 1.6-liter A16XER, producing 115 horsepower;
  • diesel - 1.7-liter A17DTS, 130 horsepower.

Considering that the Opel Mokka is a crossover, the car is quite compact in terms of external dimensions. The attractive appearance of this model balances between the strict and austere design of the Yeti and the more masculine look of the Qashqai. As you might expect, the body skin is made of durable plastic, the bottom is sheathed with protective plates, and the ground clearance is increased. All together, it fully complies with the standards of the image of an SUV.

The new generation of Opel Mokka was presented in 2020, on the Groupe PSA platform. The model is based on the new Peugeot 2008 platform and DS 3 Sportback. The new version is equipped with a gasoline, diesel or electric engine to choose from.

For the first time in the history of Opel, the model was released in an electric version. The Opel Mokka-e electric car develops a speed of 150 km / h, with a maximum power of 136 horsepower.

The Opel Mokka Dakar was specially developed for the rally. The preparation of the crossover was carried out by the Hungarian Opel-Team. The main features of the racing car: body components made of carbon fiber, suspension with a 25-centimeter travel, a 520-liter gasoline tank and a 6.2-liter V8 engine that develops 340 horsepower. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a 6-speed sequential gearbox.

Even the most reliable crossover requires timely maintenance and diagnostics. Therefore, it is advisable that the car driver understands at least a little basic issues:

  • how the car structure works;
  • how to change the oil yourself;
  • how to troubleshoot.
