Information on repair and maintenance of Nissan Almera cars electronically

Nissan Almera is a compact car model produced by the Japanese car manufacturer Nissan from summer 1995 to autumn 2006, and then since 2011. Essentially, Nissan Almera is the name of the European versions of the Nissan Pulsar / Sentra / Bluebird Sylphy, as well as a minivan version called the Nissan Almera Tino.

The first Nissan Almera, project number N15, called the Nissan Pulsar in Japan, was released in late 1995 as a replacement for the previous generation Nissan Sunny or Nissan Pulsar. In 1995, the range consisted of four engines: 1.4 GA14DE, 1.6 GA16DE and 2.0 CD20 diesel. The GTi version was added a bit later.

Almost all Nissan Almeras sold in Europe were three- or five-door, with the exception of Ireland, which imported many four-door versions. The car was 4120 mm long, 1690 mm wide and 1400 mm high and was front-wheel drive on all versions.

The Nissan Almera is largely identical to the Nissan Pulsar (N15) sold in Japan, with the exception of a different trim and petrol engine range.

In March 2000, the second generation (type N16) Nissan Almera appeared. It was originally available as a three- and five-door hatchback. A conservative saloon sedan followed in July.

On the other hand, a compact van was new to the lineup, which was also available from July 2000 and sold as the Nissan Almera Tino.

The car has petrol engines with a working volume of 1497 cm³ and a power of 66/72 kW (90/98 hp) or 1769 cm³ and a power of 84 kW/114 hp. (also in combination with a harmonious 4-speed automatic transmission) as well as 1460 cm³ diesel engines with 60 kW (82 hp) or 2184 cm³ and 82 kW (112 hp) or 100 kW ( 1 36 HP) to choose from.

In October 2011, Nissan launched a new model for an eco-car project in Thailand called the Nissan Almera as an economy sedan. The car is an updated version of the Nissan Latio N17 based on the company's global V-platform. It is powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine (HR12DE) as the Nissan March and has a five-speed manual or CVT transmission.

The third generation Nissan Almera is currently offered in select African and Asian markets. 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic are available. The third generation Nissan Almera is not available for the European market, but it is intended to be sold in Europe in the future as a competitor to the Nissan Altima in North America.

Sitting in the cabin, you might think that the Nissan Almera belongs to a larger segment. The sedan boasts arguably the most impressive headroom and legroom in its class, comfortably seating five passengers at moderate distances and offering more than enough room to stretch out when stuck in traffic.

Huge space is not limited to the interior of the car. Loading and unloading gifts, luggage and other cargo is easy, and in most cases there is free space. There is enough space for the whole family to do their holiday shopping.

The appearance of the Nissan Almera will not be impressive and may not attract much attention. There's nothing youthful, edgy, or sporty about this sedan, despite a much-needed update in mid-2015. But this is not necessarily a disadvantage. The design conveys a professional and stylish vibe that will appeal to fleet managers, sales reps or anyone who appreciates practicality. Overall, the Nissan Almera offers excellent practicality and efficient performance.

Regular operation of Nissan Almera vehicles requires maintenance and repair. Vehicle owners often want to independently understand the basic issues of troubleshooting and repairing their cars, namely:

  • how to repair the chassis;
  • how to detect and fix a power system failure;
  • how the electrical equipment of the car is arranged;
  • how to repair and replace the fuel pump;
  • when and how can the timing belt be replaced;
  • what are the causes of engine malfunctions, etc.

A great idea for such owners would be to buy Nissan Almera repair and maintenance books in PDF format on our website.
