Information on repair and maintenance of Mercedes-Benz C klass cars electronically

The production of small C-class executive cars by Mercedes-Benz dates back to 1993. It's kind of an improvement on the popular 190 in its day. Before Class A cars appeared, these were the smallest vehicles. С-classe has 4 generations: W202, W203, W204 and W205 (produced to this day).

The first cars were represented by the sedan and station wagon body types. But from the second generation, a sports coupe was added to the production, which won a lot of attention from drivers, that a special class CLC was allocated for them. Cars are equipped with high-performance modifications, which are produced in Germany and South Africa.

The first generation of W202 cars became larger than their previous version 190, on the basis of which the C-classe was developed. The cars received the first restyling in 1997, the main feature of which was the 4-cylinder forced M111 engine and diesel engines with the Common Rail system.

By this time, Mercedes-Benz had introduced another model of the S202 station wagon. The engine lineup was represented by a powerful V8 engine, a little later supplemented with a small series of C55. The W202 cars have been a huge success, with the number of produced models almost reaching 2 million.

The second generation W203 was presented in the 2000s, and already at its debut they talked about the similarity of the model with the S-class, W220. The body was rounded, the interior was spacious. The model was presented by the standard, elite and sport version. Most of the cars were equipped with CDI diesel engines, but gasoline units were supplied with Common Rail technology. All versions were equipped with a powerful V8 - C55 engine.

The third generation was presented in 2007, immediately with the completion of the production of the previous version. They did not change traditions and the S-classe car, only of a newer version, formed the basis. The coupe was added to the body line. The changes this time were cardinal: the body became more rigid with a strict design, the wheelbase increased. The design of the W204 was emphasized by aggressive chopped lines, expressive edges, a new radiator grille, which was carried over from the hood.

In 2011, the model received a restyling: the low-beam headlights were replaced with LEDs, they were supplemented with bi-xenon headlights, the interior was changed, the model range of the model's engines was updated (V6 CGI with a volume of 3.5 liters, issuing 306 hp). In the same year, the company presented the most powerful model of the C63 series, the power of which is over 500 hp.

2014 is the debut of the fourth generation C-classe W205: a new body - a convertible, an updated interior and design in the style of the new S-class. The series became the first in the company's line of cars assembled on the modular MRA platform, and among the features they note the use of aluminum, due to which a high structural rigidity is obtained. The car became the best in its class.

Any C-class model requires timely high-quality service and diagnostics. And the driver of transport equipment will only be an advantage if he understands:

  • how to diagnose and repair the chassis;
  • how to troubleshoot electrical equipment;
  • how to change oil and filter.
