Information on repair and maintenance of Kia Cerato cars electronically

Kia Cerato, Kia Spectra or Kia Forte is a C-segment passenger car produced by the South Korean manufacturer Kia Motors since 2003. This is a five-seat car with a transverse front engine and front-wheel drive, replacing the Kia Shuma/Sephia.

In most markets since 2009, the name "Cerato" has been replaced by the new name Kia Forte, but it is still used in South Africa, Australia and Brazil, among others.

Kia Cerato has been produced since November 2003 as a hatchback and sedan. It was sold in the United States of America (as Spectra) and Europe from April to May 2004

In North America, the name "Spectra" was used when it was introduced as a model in 2003, and "Spectra5" to refer to the hatchback. For Latin American markets, the Kia Cerato continued to be known as the Sephia until 2005 when it was discontinued in favor of the Kia Spectra name. In Europe, the Kia Cerato was replaced by the Kia Cee'd.

All Kia Cerato engines are in-line fours with four valves per cylinder. Gasoline engines - 1.6-liter with 105 hp. and a 2.0-liter with 143 hp. The diesel engines are a 1.5 liter 16V with 102 hp. and a 2.0-liter 16V with 112 hp, both with a turbocharger (variable geometry in the 1.5-liter), intercooler and common rail direct injection.

The Kia Cerato CRDI was the first Kia passenger car with a diesel engine to be sold in Europe. The two existing transmissions are a four-speed automatic and a five-speed manual. The automatic transmission could only be installed with petrol engines.

The restyled version was introduced in 2006, now it also includes Gamma engines. In terms of styling, the front fascia and headlights have lost their prominent grille bulge, the trunk lid has become rounder, and the taillights have been reshaped.

At the Sydney Motor Show held on October 19, 2008, Kia introduced the Kia Cerato sedan, which was called the Kia Forte in Europe and North America. In the countries of the former CIS, the second generation of Kia Cerato retained its name, and its sales started in March 2009.

The changes affected the interior and suspension elements. The car received a wider (4 cm) and elongated (3 cm) body, as well as a longer (4 cm) wheelbase. However, the ground clearance has decreased by one centimeter. At the same time, the design of the rear suspension was simplified, which instead of a multi-link independent axle became a two-cam semi-independent axle with an elastic axle, which made it more reliable and easy to repair and maintain.

The Kia Cerato accelerates cleanly at low and high speeds and seems to find its best range in city driving, where you can pull in and out of an alleyway or onto a highway.

Under the Kia Cerato, a suspension is installed that matches the power. Larger anti-roll bars and 16-inch wheels increase structural rigidity and improve cornering performance. The turning radius is very small, and its compact dimensions make it a pleasure to drive in shopping mall traffic.

Criticized in the past for using cheap plastic materials, Kia has replaced the old style with nice textures on the dashboard and throughout the cabin.

The Kia Cerato comes with air conditioning, a six-speaker AM/FM/CD audio system, power windows, power door locks with remote keyless entry, heated power outside mirrors, and a height-adjustable steering column.

In July 2012, Kia introduced the third generation Cerato for the Korean market as the Kia K3. The sedan was sold in the US as the Kia Forte. Later, a five-door hatchback version was released.

The 2012 Kia Forte included LED headlights and taillights as standard equipment, as well as Kia's driver-focused cockpit design.

Today you can meet Kia Cerato on sales sites and on the roads quite often. And the regular operation of cars requires maintenance and repair. Vehicle owners often want to independently understand the basic issues of troubleshooting and repairing their cars, namely:
