The range of engines is represented by six different variants, which are installed across the hood. They were characterized by four cylinders and 16 valves, complying with environmental standards Euro 4. Petrol versions are presented in 3 volumes: 1.4 liters, 16 liters and 2.0 liters, where the power is respectively 109 hp, 125 hp. And 143 hp. Diesel versions are represented by a wide range, more than 6 options, where the volume varies from 1.6 liters to 2.0 liters, and the power reaches from 90 hp. up to 140 hp Some versions are turbocharged. Also, since 2007, the Kia Ceed can be purchased with gas engines, the tank of which is installed in the trunk, instead of a spare wheel. There are gas injection valves, LPG evaporation system, LPG electronics and a gas-to-petrol switch. Paired with such a system of engines is a 5 or 6-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Any modification of the model is equipped with a speed-dependent steering system and an electromechanical power steering. The interior, or rather the material used, depends on the configuration: in the LX, EX the seats are upholstered in fabric, in TX, partially fabric, partially leather, but the EX has a leather interior. The instrument panel is illuminated in red. In 2013, the sporty three-door Kia pro ceed GT and five-door hatchback debuted. Both versions were equipped with a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine, with a maximum power of 204 hp.
The new generation started in 2018. The lightweight and durable K2 platform was taken as the basis of the model. On this chassis, the suspension geometry has been completely revised and the steering has become sharper. The basic unit remained the naturally aspirated 1.4 liter engine with a capacity of 100 hp. The linear range of engines consisted of 1.0 L turbodiesel (120 HP), 1.4 L (140 HP), 1.6 L (115-136 HP). They all worked in tandem with a six-speed manual transmission.
