Information on repair and maintenance of Kia K5 cars electronically

The Kia K5, formerly known as the Kia Optima, is a mid-range sedan from the South Korean automobile manufacturer Kia Motors, which was launched in 2000.

The first generation cars were primarily sold as the Kia Optima, although the Kia Magentis name was used in Europe and Canada when sales began there in 2002. For second generation models, Kia used the Kia Lotze and Kia K5 names for the South Korean market and the Kia Magentis name worldwide, except in the United States, Canada, Malaysia and the Middle East, where the Optima name was retained until the 2021 model year. The name Kia K5 has been used in all markets since the introduction of the fifth generation in 2019.

The Kia K5 is a mid-size sedan with an arrow-shaped design that sets it apart from competitors such as the Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, Nissan Altima, Toyota Camry and Subaru Legacy.

The 2019 Kia K5 goes on sale with more standard convenience features on the top three trims, as well as a new GT-Line AWD Premium package expanding mid-trim offerings.

After a redesign and name change, the Kia K5 returns with a range of new features in higher trims. The Kia K5 is available in LX, LXS, GT-Line, EX and GT trim levels, with all-wheel drive available on LXS and GT-Line. In 2022, the K5 GT-Line, EX, and GT will get a 360-degree camera system, optional wireless chargers, and standard navigation.

Kia is complementing its mid-range GT-Line with a new AWD Premium Package that adds a panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, LED spotlights and additional driver assistance features, including Highway Driving Assistance and adaptive cruise control based on the navigation.

Most versions of the Kia K5 are powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that sends 180 horsepower to the front wheels in most trims, or to all four when all-wheel drive is added to the GT-Line. Oddly enough, the 290-hp 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine available in the top-of-the-line K5 GT is only available in front-wheel drive.

The Kia K5 is convincing on its own, thanks to its elegant styling and accessible content. Of course, unless you opt for the Kia K5 GT with its 290bhp powertrain, this Kia's performance is more bland than insane. Optional all-wheel drive can convince buyers who might otherwise be attracted to SUVs, and the Kia K5's well-balanced ride makes it a comfortable travel companion.

The interior of the Kia K5 may depend on the vehicle equipment. The materials are pretty nice. Kia K5 does not offer leather upholstery. The lowest two trim levels have manual cloth seats, the GT-Line adds a power driver's seat and mixes cloth with leatherette (artificial leather), and the EX and GT 2.5T are fully wrapped in leatherette, albeit with a separate design. The front passenger seat has a standard height adjustment. Power adjustment is optional for EX and GT 2.5T.
