Repair and service KamAZ in the eBook

The Kama Automobile Plant (KamAZ) has been producing a large truck, the KamAZ-5320 flatbed tractor, for 25 years. It was the first truck developed under the brand name of the plant. The prototype was the ZIL-170, which was produced at the ZIL enterprise until 1975, and after that it was decided to transfer the production to the Kamsky plant. The first KamAZ trucks rolled off the assembly line in 1976. On its basis, later they began to produce tractors of other models, dump trucks, trucks and other trucks. All models of the KamAZ family were similar both in structure and in details, in many respects they were unified.

The body consisted of a metal platform, the side and rear sides were opened, the awning was included. The driver's cab had three seats and was reclined forward. Under it was the engine compartment with the gearbox and the clutch. The 5320 model was equipped with a KamAZ-740 8-cylinder diesel engine with a volume of 10.8 liters and an operating power of 210 horsepower. Temporarily, in 1993, ChMZ-238 engines with a capacity of 240 horsepower were installed on trucks. This came during the restoration of the KamAZ engine plant after the fire. The diesel engine KamAZ-740 was developed according to the latest technologies at that time, especially for the domestic Soviet automotive industry.

The gearbox also had innovations - in addition there was a 2-speed gearbox, which was installed after the clutch, and went in front of the main five-speed synchronized gearbox. The truck is equipped with several brake systems: service, parking, auxiliary and spare. Each system is applied under certain driving conditions.

No less popular model was KamAZ-54115, which was produced on the basis of 5410. The model was quite well updated, as a result of which the carrying capacity was increased. The main changes came to a different structure behind the high cab: spare wheel, receivers, fuel tank. The cabin provides a berth.

KamAZ-54115 was equipped with a diesel V-shaped eight-cylinder turbocharged engine with a volume of 10, 8 liters and a capacity of 176 to 240 horsepower. The pair is a mechanical ten-speed gearbox. The maximum speed of the truck is 90 km / h.

KamAZ-54115 had several modifications:

  • KamAZ-54115-010;
  • KamAZ-54115-010-13;
  • KamAZ-54115-011-13;
  • KamAZ-54115-911.
