Information on repair and maintenance of JAC S3 cars electronically

The JAC S3 is an SUV produced by the Chinese car manufacturer JAC since 2014. The JAC S3 was launched on August 27, 2014. In Brazil, the car was sold as the JAC T5 until the summer of 2018, since then it has been sold as the JAC T50. An updated version of the S3 was unveiled at the 2016 Chengdu Auto Show.

The 2016 facelift includes redesigned grilles, triangular shaped fog lights, new headlights, new taillights, new bumpers, and an updated interior. It also introduces the new JAC corporate logo.

Characteristics of JAC S3

At the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show, JAC Motors unveiled the facelifted 2019 JAC S3. The 2019 facelift features a redesigned front fascia and a redesigned rear bumper, resulting in a 20mm longer car.

The interior of the 2019 model has also been redesigned, with a large floating central control screen greatly improved with an improved visual experience. The instrument cluster display is a high-resolution, dimmable twin-cylinder display.

When the market is flooded with a cornucopia of Chinese crossovers, it can be difficult to stand out. At first glance, the JAC S3 doesn't really stand out. No turbocharger. No all wheel drive. No high-profile next-gen tech. But this little crossover has its charms. On the one hand, this is not so little. The JAC S3 sits at the pinnacle of JAC's line of small crossovers, boasting roominess and features that far outweigh its price.

The short nose with projector headlights equipped with daytime running lights, large hexagonal grille and X-shaped bumper bears an uncanny resemblance to the new Ford EcoSport. But the JAC S3 facelift was launched a year before Ford, so who copied whom? The rear, on the other hand, seems a bit more typically Korean/Chinese. The high roof with the A-pillars pushed far forward and the heavy black cladding rising towards the rear make the JAC S3 look smaller than it really is. Strategically placed chrome strips further break up the black plastic cladding. Small but eye-catching 16-inch alloy wheels complete the illusion.

Although the interior is dominated by hard plastic, it is no different from most crossovers in this price range, even Japanese ones. Thanks to its high roof, the JAC S3 is surprisingly roomy for its size. At any seat height, you'll have a few centimeters more headroom compared to competitors like the MG ZS or Suzuki Vitara.

The long wheelbase gives plenty of rear legroom, although the angled center console and transmission tunnel mean the center seat occupant has to spread his legs to get comfortable.

A large trunk completes the package with a flat loading lip and plenty of room for just about everything but a full-size bike. Width is about right for the class, but the cut-out door cards give a bit more space on the outside. The spacious interior is upholstered in black leatherette, which gives the dashboard, doors and seats a classy look. Contrasting stitching and large red 'S' logos embroidered on the seats add a sporty touch.

Despite big red S badges all over the place, the JAC S3's 1.6-liter engine boasts just 116 hp. (118 hp) and a torque of 155 Nm. There is no turbo here! Combined with the continuously variable transmission, the engine accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 11.8 seconds.

In addition to parking assistance systems, the JAC S3 infotainment screen provides access to the tire pressure monitoring system, Bluetooth and radio. The sound is crisp, with good mids, but not to the level of bombast of some of the best systems. Like most Chinese crossovers, the JAC S3 comes with third-party smartphone integration, in this case CarBit EasyConnection.
