Information on repair and maintenance of Hyundai Lavita cars electronically

The Hyundai Lavita is a subcompact minivan produced by the Korean company Hyundai Motor Company. This car was sold under different names in different regions: in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan it was known as the Hyundai Lavita, in Australia as the Hyundai Elantra Lavita, in Malaysia as the Inokom Matrix, and in other countries it is best known as the Hyundai Matrix.

The Hyundai Lavita (or Matrix) was developed on the basis of the third generation Hyundai Elantra, known as the Elantra III. Although the car inherited the platform from the Elantra, its body has undergone significant changes. The Hyundai Lavita was the second minivan from Hyundai after the Trajet and the first compact MPV in its lineup.

Characteristics of Hyundai Lavita

The Hyundai Lavita model debuted in Asia, and then, in 2001, appeared in Europe under the name Hyundai Matrix. For the European market, the car was equipped with a more powerful engine, while the Asian version used a 1.5-liter engine with a capacity of 100 hp.

When developing this model, Hyundai engineers aimed to create a comfortable and practical car, ideal for family trips and business trips. Despite its compact dimensions (length 4025 mm and height 1635 mm), the car stands out for its spacious interior and good maneuverability.

The instrument panel in the Hyundai Lavita (Matrix) is located on the central console and tilted towards the driver, which provides a better view and facilitates monitoring of the traffic situation. This improves visibility and makes driving more convenient.

The windshield has a convex shape and is slightly recessed, which improves the aerodynamic characteristics of the car and increases visibility for the driver.

The interior can be transformed by completely folding the rear seats, which creates a flat surface for transporting goods. The rear door opens upward, and the trunk, despite its compact size, is quite spacious. A full-size spare tire is located under the trunk floor, which adds convenience to everyday use of the car.

The minivan has many convenient compartments and functions for comfortable storage of things. The trunk has two niches in the sides and under the rear seats, designed for storing tools. Under the front seat is a compartment for shoes, and folding tables are installed in the backs of the front seats. The dashboard has several small containers and about 12 cup holders throughout the cabin.

The on-board computer provides full control of the situation on the road, displaying information on fuel consumption, distance to the next gas station, distance traveled, travel time and other parameters. There is also a special sensor that notifies you when the handbrake is engaged.

Three engine options are available for the car: a 1.6-liter with 103 hp, a 1.8-liter with 122 hp, and a three-cylinder turbodiesel with 82 hp.

The model offers two transmission options: automatic and manual. The braking system includes an anti-lock system, with disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. The front suspension is made according to the MacPherson scheme, which is the optimal solution for this car. The rear double-wishbone suspension effectively copes with lateral roll when turning.

In addition to everything, the minivan is equipped with a reliable safety system. The car body, made of high-strength steel, provides excellent rigidity and protection for the driver and passengers. In a collision, the body's power elements are deformed according to specially designed patterns, which helps to absorb the main force of the impact.

In addition, the car is equipped with airbags and seat belts with pretensioners. The fuel pump and filter are combined into one unit, which is located inside the fuel tank - this is one of the safest systems in its class.

The minivan is equipped with a system that prevents fuel leakage and fire after an accident, providing a high level of safety. Standard equipment includes ABS and EBD systems. ABS (anti-lock braking system) prevents the wheels from locking when braking, and EBD (electronic brake force distribution) evenly distributes braking forces depending on road conditions and vehicle load, which helps to reduce the braking distance.

Hyundai Lavita headlights use Multi Focus Reflector (MFR) technology. This system directs light from the lamp through reflectors that refract it into the lens, providing effective illumination of the road without blinding oncoming drivers.
