Information on repair and maintenance of Geely Emgrand cars electronically

The Geely Emgrand (originally called the Geely Emgrand EC7) is a compact C-segment car produced by the Emgrand division of the Chinese automaker Geely. After the discontinuation of the Emgrand brand in 2014, Geely Emgrand EC7 was renamed Geely Emgrand. The second generation Geely Emgrand was presented to the public at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show.

The Emgrand brand was founded by automaker Geely in April 2009 and was publicly unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show that year, along with two other new brands created by Geely: Englon and Gleagle. These three brands were supposed to replace the Geely label in the Chinese market, and each of them had its own dedicated market segment.

The Geely Emgrand EC7 is the first C-segment sedan developed by Geely independently from other models, as previous models were built on pre-existing models (mainly based on a chassis borrowed from the Daihatsu Charade).

Production of the first Geely Emgrand EC7 models for retail sale was completed in July 2009, and the model itself went on sale in China in mid-August 2009 and was introduced as the launch model of the Emgrand brand.

It was a four-door C-segment sedan measuring 4.63 meters in length, equipped with a 1.8-liter 16-valve Otto inline-4 engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The second model Geely Emgrand EC8 was released in October 2010 and was a 4-door sedan equipped with Otto inline 4-cylinder engines of 2.0 and 2.4 liters.

The Geely Emgrand EC7-RV engine range consisted of gasoline engines made by Mitsubishi, all four cylinders with electronic injection and D-CVVT dual variable valve timing, mated to a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. The four-door version of the sedan had a length of 4,635 meters, the five-door - 4,397 meters. The wheelbase of both options is 2650 meters.

A slight facelift of the model debuted in April 2014, which resulted in redesigned bumpers, a new grille and a new automaker logo, LED headlights and fog lights, and a new redesigned instrument panel with more modern styling. The range of engines was replenished with a 1.3 Turbo (4G13) gasoline engine with a power of 133 hp. paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic CVT transmission. This engine replaces the old naturally aspirated 1.8 engine in the Chinese market.

The second generation Geely Emgrand sedan launched in China at the end of August 2021 and is a completely new model developed by Geely on the new BMA modular front-wheel drive platform. This model is lower in both price and size than the GeelyEmgrand GL sedan.
