The fourth generation was no exception and was distinguished by even greater changes. The Cologne V6 engine has been updated, the frame has become more rigid, and a six-speed automatic has appeared. Changes have occurred in the suspension and appearance. The radiator grille and head optics have been updated.
The platform for the fifth generation was the platform used in cars such as the Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT. A supporting structure appeared instead of a frame one. This caused the car to increase in length by 20 cm. But the boot volume remained the same (2280 liters). There are two new engines: the two-liter EcoBoost and the 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V6.
