Information on repair and maintenance of Fiat Ducato cars electronically

The Italian company Fiat is the manufacturer of the world-famous Fiat Ducato minibuses. Vans began to be produced back in 1981, and are still being produced to this day. Fiat Ducato can also be recognized under the Citroen Jumper and Peugeot Boxer brands. To date, three generations of minibuses have been produced.

The first generation began to be manufactured at the Italian plant Sevel Sud. The van model range existed in several variations, which depended on the vehicle's carrying capacity - from 1 t to 1.8 t, respectively.

Different engine variations were provided for them:

  • four-cylinder petrol, with a volume of 1.8 - 2 liters and an operating power of 68 - 83 hp;
  • diesel, volume 1.9 - 2.5 l, power 69 - 72 hp;
  • turbodiesel with a volume of 2.5 liters and a power of 94 hp

In the early 90s, minibuses were modernized externally, the front part of the body and the instrument panel were changed. And from 1989 to 1994, they produced a smaller version of the Fiat Talento, in the form of a van with side doors.

The second generation of minibuses began to be developed in 1993. The exterior design was redone and all the corners on the body were replaced. Among the engine variations, a diesel Iveco, with a volume of 2.8 liters, and a turbodiesel version were added. Until the 2000s, modifications were developed: Goods Transport (for transporting goods), Passenger Transport (for transporting passengers) and Combi. The minibuses were equipped with two-liter gasoline and turbodiesel units, volume from 2.0 to 2.8 liters, with an operating power of 99 - 108 hp. The transmission was offered in two options: a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. The passenger model could accommodate from six to nine passengers.

In 2003, further changes took place, first of all, the load capacity was significantly increased, and the 2.5 liter diesel engine was excluded from the engines. Fiat Ducato received new modifications, with a carrying capacity from 2.9 to 3.5 tons.

The third generation began to be produced from 2006 to the present. They make a variety of configurations with different load capacities and are equipped with different engines. The list of such power units includes only diesel equipment with a volume of 2.2 to 3.0 liters, with an operating power of 99 to 155 hp. In 2014, the appearance and equipment were updated, and in 2016 they were equipped with engines in accordance with Euro 6.

The car's standard equipment includes: power steering, remote central locking, driver airbag, full-size spare tire and front power windows.

The current generation of Ducato is the result of collaboration with PSA Peugeot Citroen. All vans are manufactured on the Sevel Sud production line, Europe's largest truck manufacturing plant. The engines are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, which is a bit sporadic in operation but is excellently positioned.

Minibuses, like cars of any series and brand, require timely maintenance, and a real driver must understand the basic issues:

  • how to change the oil;
