UAZ Patriot is an all-wheel drive vehicle designed to drive on roads of all categories, as well as rough terrain. This is the fourth generation of SUVs from the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant. UAZ-3163 Patriot became the successor of the UAZ-469 car.
The model has been assembled at a plant in Russia from 2005 to the present. At the same time, the car has various modifications:
- UAZ Patriot Diesel (31631) - a modification with an imported IVECO turbodiesel engine, the volume of which is 2.3 liters and the power is 116 horsepower. Serial production of the modification was carried out from 2008 to 2012.
- UAZ Patriot Sport (3164) - modification with a reduced wheelbase. The manufacturer positioned this variation as a model “for young and active people”. The release of the modification was carried out for only six months, from June to December 2010. Under the hood of the car, two variants of 2.7-liter gasoline engines were installed: ZMZ-40904 (power 128 horsepower) and ZMZ-4091 (deformed, power 112 horsepower). The transmission was represented by a five-speed manual gearbox.
- UAZ Profi - modification with an extended wheelbase. The model is a commercial all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive pickup truck. A ZMZ-409051 engine is installed under the hood, the power of which is increased to 150 horsepower. This modification has been produced at the plant since autumn 2017.
In 2006, the modernization of the UAZ Patriot began. So, the car received a new anti-lock braking system from the well-known company Bosch. Two years later, in 2008, the Patriot began to install air conditioning and an improved heating system. At the same time, the interior ventilation system and the engine cooling system were updated. The motor began to meet all the requirements of Euro-3.
A significant update took place in the spring of 2012. Then the instrument panel was completely updated. The traumatic handle for the front passenger was removed and an updated steering wheel appeared.
A year later, the manufacturer announced another upgrade of the UAZ Patriot. The model received a new transfer case, which led to the disappearance of the RCP engagement lever and its replacement with a special washer. Decreased in size rear driveshaft. The power windows and mirrors were now controlled from the driver's door. The headlining and passenger handles have also been updated. Heated windshield became available.
In the fall of 2014, the release of an updated version of the Patriot started. The main distinguishing features: lighting, bumpers, redesigned seats, rear view camera, navigation. The sale of the restyled model started in the autumn of the same year.
In 2016, a new version of the SUV was presented. The car became the owner of a new grille and front panel. There are also new belts with pretensioners. In addition, instead of two separate fuel tanks, they began to install a single tank.
