Information on repair and maintenance of Mitsubishi Dion cars electronically

Mitsubishi Dion is a compact van produced by the Japanese company Mitsubishi Motors from 2000 to 2005. The model was focused primarily on the domestic market of Japan, but over time it became popular beyond its borders - especially in the secondary market in the CIS countries. Dion became a logical development of the family line of compact cars, combining the versatility of a minivan and the maneuverability of a passenger car

The model was named after Dion - a character from ancient Greek mythology, which was supposed to emphasize something noble and practical. Created on the Mitsubishi Carisma platform, Dion was distinguished by a high roof, an almost vertical rear end and a large interior space. Despite its compact dimensions, the car provided good visibility and ease of control, especially in heavy traffic.

Characteristics of Mitsubishi Eclipse

The Mitsubishi Dion's appearance could not be called expressive or aggressive - rather, it was functional and practical. Smooth lines, wide doors, enlarged side mirrors and neat headlights made it maximally suitable for everyday use. High ground clearance by minivan standards, as well as the ability to install both front and all-wheel drive, expanded its versatility.

Technically, the Mitsubishi Dion was equipped with a reliable and time-tested 2.0-liter 4G63 series gasoline engine. It was an in-line four-cylinder engine with distributed injection, producing about 135 hp, which was quite enough for confident movement both in the city and on the highway. Transmission options included a 4-speed automatic or a CVT, depending on the trim level.

The Dion had independent front and multi-link rear suspension, which gave the car a soft ride and good stability on the road. It was especially comfortable when driving with a full load, when the suspension operation became balanced. The power steering provided a precise response, and the braking system included front disc and rear drum brakes, which was enough for a mid-range car.

In terms of safety, the car met the standards of its time. Even the basic trim level had front airbags, ABS, power steering and seat belts with pretensioners. More expensive trim levels included side airbags, additional body rigidity elements and a brake force distribution system.

The Mitsubishi Dion's interior is one of its main advantages. The ability to transform the seats, individual seats in the second row, a folding third row - all this made it an excellent option for both a family and for transporting cargo. The seat backs were easily adjusted, the interior could be quickly converted into a bed or a spacious luggage compartment. The trunk volume ranged from 350 to 1050 liters, depending on the configuration. Inside, there were many useful niches, shelves and boxes - from cup holders to compartments under the seats.

Efficiency is another important factor. The average fuel consumption of the Dion was 8-9 liters per 100 km in mixed mode, and with careful driving, lower values could be achieved. The fuel tank capacity was 60 liters, which allowed you to confidently cover long distances. Servicing the engine and chassis was not difficult, as spare parts were available, and the design itself is quite simple and reliable.
