In 1970, production was taken over by American Motor AMC, which later came under the control of Renault. The brand has been owned by Fiat since 1987 when Chrysler Corporation acquired American Motors (AMC) from Renault.
The Jeep Cherokee is a mid-size SUV that has been produced since 1974 in various generations.
In 2002, the Jeep Cherokee KJ series was released. From 2002 to 2012, it was sold in North America as the Jeep Liberty KJ.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a high-end SUV that has been in production since 1992 and is currently in its fifth generation. Until 2010, he shared the role of the flagship at home with the Jeep Commander, but after the last production of the latter, he remains alone at the top of the lineup.
