Repair and service Hyundai cars in the eBook
Hyundai Motor Company (better known as Hyundai) is a South Korean multinational automobile manufacturer. Its head office is located in Yangjae-Dong Prefecture in Seocho-gu City in Seoul. The brand was created in 1967 by Chung Joo Young.
Translated from the Korean language, the word hyundai means modernity. The Hyundai logo is a stylized H, representing two people, a company and a customer.
Hyundai is leading the way with brands such as Porsche and Lexus. The Korean brand makes everything from subcompacts to luxury sedans, including minivans and SUVs of various sizes.
Hyundai produced its first car in 1968. It was a compact sedan Cortina, made under license from Ford. The model competed directly with the Toyota Corona, which, however, was heavily taxed by the government as it was imported and not produced directly in Korea. The next step was the presentation in 1975 of the Hyundai Pony, developed by Italdesign from Turin and powered by a Japanese engine manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors Corporation. A technical assistance agreement was signed with this Japanese company in 1973.
Design and construction of the models started entirely in-house with the Hyundai Sonata in 1988. During the same years, the company expanded its activities outside the country with good sales.
The most popular and best-selling Hyundai sedans are:
- Hyundai Elantra (Hyundai Avante in South Korea) is a five-seat C-segment passenger car with front engine and front wheel drive, produced since 1990;
- Hyundai Accent / Hyundai Verna (in Russia the model is called Hyundai Solaris) is a B-segment car, produced since 1995 in four generations.
Crossover production began in 2000 with the mid-size Hyundai Santa Fe crossover, and in 2004 with the smaller Hyundai Tucson compact crossover.
There are four generations of Hyundai Santa Fe with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, produced between 2000 and 2019.This car model became the best-seller of the South Korean automaker, receiving huge success in the American and European markets. On November 5, 2015, Hyundai launches Genesis, a luxury brand (named after the luxury car of the same name) whose model names will be formed with the letter G and, depending on the model category, the numbers 70, 80 and 90. The first Genesis model The G90 (intended to replace the Hyundai Equus) was introduced in December 2015.
