Repair and service Dacia cars in the eBook
Dacia is a Romanian automobile brand founded in 1966 and owned by the Renault group since 1999. The original Dacia models were Renault models, in particular the Renault 12, which was produced from 1969 to 2006 as the Dacia 1300.
Dacia is the largest company in Romania in terms of turnover and the largest exporter.
1968 saw the start of production of the Dacia 1100 based on the Renault 8, a sedan with an engine and rear wheel drive. According to the agreements, Renault supplied all the components for the car, which was then assembled in Romania. From 1968 to 1972, about 44,000 units were produced.
1969 also saw the introduction of the Dacia 1300, a derivative of the Renault 12, a 4-door front-wheel drive sedan. During the 1970s and 1980s, Dacia developed a whole line of vehicles based on this model. More than 2 million copies have been produced in total.
In the period from 1991 to 1996, the Dacia Liberta was produced, and in 1995 the first completely Romanian model was released - the Dacia Nova, on which, since 1998, Bosch single-point injection was installed.
In 1999, Renault bought 51% of the company, and, starting in 2000, the Dacia SuperNova was produced, which was a restyled Dacia Nova, but equipped with a Renault engine. Over the next five years, the French company completed the $ 220 million acquisition of Dacia.
The Dacia Solenza was launched in March 2003, and the car will also have a diesel version with the F8Q engine, which is already used in Dacia trucks.
In 2004 and 2007, the models of our own design - Dacia Logan and Dacia Sandero went on sale, and in the middle of 2010 - Dacia Duster and Dacia Sandero Stepway.
Although they were intended for sale in developing countries, strong demand for the Dacia Logan from Western European customers forced Dacia to sell them in these countries as well. Under Renault's leadership, these models have been developed using platforms, engines and components from other Renault models, in particular the Renault Clio, Renault Twingo and Renault Kangoo.
On June 2, 2004, the Dacia Logan was presented to the international press, which will relaunch the Dacia brand. The first deliveries will start to Romania from September 9th. Sales targets will be exceeded in the first year due to strong consumer demand. Subsequently Renault will decide to sell the Dacia Logan also in Western Europe.
The Dacia Sandero hatchback completes the Dacia lineup in 2008 with a model that will be very popular with Western buyers. With its launch, Dacia is introducing a new brand logo.
With the launch of the Dacia Duster, the brand offers a model ideally suited to new trends in the European market. The Dacia Duster SUV was a huge success and became the brand's first model with over 1 million units produced.
