Changan Automobile (also known as Changan Motors, China Chang'an Automobile Group or Chana Auto) is an automobile manufacturer based in Chongqing, People's Republic of China.
Changan was founded in 1862 by Hongzhang Li as a weapons company. It wasn't until 1957 that she entered the automotive industry by building her first jeep. In 1984, in cooperation with Suzuki, the company began producing small cars and engines for the Jiangling brand.
The production of commercial vehicles began in 1990 under license from the Japanese company Suzuki, with which a cooperation agreement was concluded two years later in the form of a joint venture.
Subsequently, the company entered into a joint venture with the Ford group for the production of automobiles and transmissions.
Changan designs, develops, manufactures and markets passenger cars under the Changan brand and commercial vehicles marketed under the Chana brand.
The company operates joint ventures with Ford (Changan Ford), Groupe PSA, with Peugeot, (Changan PSA), Mazda (Changan Mazda) and Suzuki (Changan Suzuki), producing respectively Ford, DS Automobiles, Mazda and Suzuki cars, mainly for the Chinese market. It also has a joint venture with the Jiangling Motor Corporation Group (JMCG), which makes SUVs marketed under the Landwind brand.
Since 2005, Chang'an Automobile has become one of the largest Chinese automotive groups along with SAIC, FAW, Geely and Dong Feng, the fourth largest car manufacturer in China.

The Changan CS35 is a subcompact crossover in production since 2012 and was designed by the Changan Design Center in Turin, Italy, and it was Changan's first attempt at a crossover / SUV that was also the smallest crossover in the lineup before the launch of the Changan CS15.
The 2017 Changan CS35 engine options are a 1.5-liter turbo engine and a 1.6-liter engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission, with a maximum engine power of 115.0 kW, equivalent to maximum engine power 156 HP, and maximum torque 210 N • m.
The Changan CS75 is a compact crossover that debuted at the 2013 Guangzhou Auto Show. There are two engines available for Changan CS75:
- 1.8-liter turbo engine with 180 hp
- 2.0-liter engine 158 hp
Both engines are paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
In April 2018, the restyled Changan CS75 debuted at the stands of the Beijing Motor Show, and it was really thoroughly revised and the FL index was added to the name.
