Information on repair and maintenance of BMW X3 cars electronically

BMW continues to expand its successful X family with the introduction of the new BMW X3. This crossover combines the characteristic dynamics of a BMW with the wide range of capabilities of a sports activity vehicle known as a Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV). The car premiered at the International Automobile Exhibition (IAA) in September 2003 in Frankfurt.

The BMW X3 model is created on the basis of third-generation units of the Bavarian automobile family. The long wheelbase and short overhangs, as well as the elegantly sloping roofline, underline the dynamic character of the car. The alternation of concave and convex surfaces adds freshness to the appearance of the BMW X3. Flared wheel arches and a distinctive front end give the crossover strength and confidence, highlighting its ability to perform confidently in a variety of situations.

The BMW X3 is equipped with new six-cylinder engines: 2.5-liter with 184 hp. and 3.0-liter, providing dynamic movement of the car. The X3 3.0i with 170 kW (231 hp) delivers a top speed of 210 km/h and, with the optional sports package, a top speed of 224 km/h. This vehicle not only stands out for its efficiency on hard road surfaces, but also for its pleasant off-road performance, making it a versatile choice for a variety of operating conditions.

The second generation BMW X3 with the BMW F25 index was first presented at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, and starting from the end of that year the car went on sale. The model variety included two 3.0-liter gasoline engines. The naturally aspirated version developed 272 horsepower, while the turbocharged version reached 306 hp.

Two diesel options were also offered - 2.0-liter (184 hp) and 3.0-liter (245 hp). Later, a new 2.0-liter diesel engine with 201 hp was introduced. Transmissions included a six-speed Getrag manual and an eight-speed ZF 8HP automatic with start/stop function.

A new 2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine was added to the range for 2016, replacing the six-cylinder variant and delivering 240 hp. Engine efficiency has improved to 10.23 l/100 km. The BMW X3 35i variant, which was improved in 2015, is equipped with a 3-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine producing 300 hp. In 2015, an option also appeared with a 2-liter diesel engine developing 180 hp.

On June 26, 2017, the new BMW X3 with the factory index G01 was presented at the BMW plant in Spartanburg. The official public premiere of the car took place at the International Automobile Exhibition in Frankfurt am Main in September 2017, and the model went on sale in November 2017.

The basic basis for the BMW X3 G01 was the CLAR (CLassic ARchitecture) platform, also used in the 5 and 7 Series models. However, the BMW X3 has its own modification of this platform, retaining some floor panels and basic geometric parameters such as the distance from the front axle to the pedal assembly, but significantly modernizing the remaining components.

A distinctive feature of the BMW X3 from the 5 Series model is the use of a McPherson-type front suspension with two separate lower arms instead of a double-wishbone design. At the rear, the five-link design is nearly identical to the larger sedans, but with a modified subframe, lower-mounted struts and anti-roll bar so as not to reduce boot space. There is also a different rack configuration with electric power steering and the absence of air suspension and steering rear axle.

The car's body frame is made from high-strength steels, and the new design provides a 10-15% increase in torsional rigidity compared to the old model. For 2021, BMW has expanded the standard features of the BMW X3 SUV to include Android Auto support.
