Information on repair and maintenance of Seat Leon cars electronically

Seat Leon C-class cars have been produced by Volkswagen since 1998. The first generation Leon was built on the basis of the Seat Toledo II sedan. At the same time, the Leon had a lot in common with the Golf IV and was offered as a more affordable and sporty version of the Golf.

The base model was equipped with a 1.4-liter, 1.6-liter and 1.8-liter gasoline engine, while the power varied from 75 to 125 hp. 1.8 liter engines had sports modifications. At the same time, diesel models were also produced, with a volume of 1.9 liters and a power of 68 - 150 hp. The engines were paired with a 5- and 6-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic.

The second generation was introduced in 2005. The engine range differed from its predecessors with the letters TSI (1.2, 1.4, 1.8, 2.0) and TFSI (2.0), the power range varied, and sports modifications exceeded 200 hp

2009 was marked by a restyling of the car. The bumper, headlights, lights and mirrors, front panel have changed.

In 2012, the third generation debuted. The model is equipped with a new modular platform MQB. A year later, they released a 3-door version of the Seat Leon Sport Coupe. The new model is equipped with engines ranging from 1.2 liters to 2.0 liters, while the power ranges from 86 to 184 hp. These are both petrol and engine versions. Over time, the Leon ST station wagon was introduced.

In 2016, Seat Leon has changed: now it has a more refined interior with good ergonomics and functionality. The dashboard has been designed to make it easy for the driver to use all available controls. Instrument dials are clear and easy to read. At the top of the panel is a 5-inch touch screen. The models are more spacious inside and offer quite a bit of customization for both the seats and the steering wheel.

The most popular is the SE model, which is equipped with power windows, leather steering wheel, shifter, alloy wheel rims, Bluetooth phone connectivity, cruise control and air conditioning. The Cupra model will add DAB radio and satellite navigation. The Leon FR model will offer: an improved touch-screen navigation system, sports seats, dual-zone climate control and parking sensors.

The Leon hatchback has some of the best safety records. The cabin provides for the presence of seven airbags, electronic stability control, an emergency braking assistance system and a torque distribution system during braking.

In 2020, the fourth generation Leon was introduced. It has an entire digital cluster equipped with LED-Light, as well as a wide range of petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric engines.

Owners of Seat Leon cars from time to time encounter a service station for their cars. This is expensive, and therefore most of the drivers decided to study on their own the main points and issues that need to be addressed most often:

  • how to change oils;
  • how to repair the chassis;
  • how car electronics work.
