Gasoline engines with a volume of 1.0 liters with a compressor and a maximum power of 95 hp, 1.6 liters with a power of 98 hp. and 2.0 liters with a power of 143 hp, and a 1.4 liter diesel engine developed by Groupe PSA with a turbocharger, common rail direct injection and a maximum power of 68 hp.6
In 2007, the Ford Ecosport was redesigned at the front, with new headlights and bumpers, and at the rear, the bumper and taillights were also redesigned, then item holders were added to the cabin, and the quality of some materials and sound insulation were improved. There were no changes in mechanics.
The second generation Ford EcoSport is based on the platform of the seventh generation Ford Fiesta and was launched at the New Delhi Auto Expo in January 2012. The entire development of the model was carried out by the Italian design studio Vercarmodel Saro in Orbassano.
On February 25, 2013, Ford unveiled the European version of the new Ford EcoSport for the first time at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This version is powered by the same 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine that was also available in the Ford Focus and Ford B-MAX. Additionally, a 1.5-liter petrol engine with 82 kW (112 hp) and a 1.5-liter turbodiesel with 66 kW (90 hp) were available.
The car is equipped with ABS and ESP as standard. Hill start assist is also standard on vehicles with automatic transmission.
The Ford EcoSport was discontinued at the end of 2022 without a replacement.
