Repair and service Volvo cars in the eBook

Volvo was founded in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1927 by two partners Assar Gabrielsson and Gustav Larsson as a subsidiary of SKF, a ball bearing plant.

Volvo's name comes from the Latin volvere (to roll, "to flow") and was chosen because one of the two founding partners worked at an SKF ball bearing plant.

The Volvo symbol is the symbol of Mars associated with the iron symbol, chosen to represent the toughness of the high-quality steel used in Sweden's automobile production. Shortly thereafter, a diagonal line was applied across the grille to attach the current symbol to the radiator.

From the beginning, Volvo has focused on safety. The first Volvo car was produced on April 14, 1927 under the name ÖV 4. These cars have been designed to withstand the harsh Swedish climate and environmental conditions. Later, the Volvo group will expand into other sectors such as trucks (today Volvo is the second largest manufacturer of heavy trucks in the world), buses, construction equipment, agricultural tractors, marine engines, etc.

In 1964, Volvo opened a plant in Torslanda, which is still one of the most important manufacturing plants for SUVs and high-end cars.

Currently, Volvo's second largest factory is the car factory in Ghent, Belgium, opened in 1965. This plant mainly produces cars of the middle and low price range. The Volvo brand is well established worldwide. Volvo currently produces cars in the so-called premium segment, competing with Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Infiniti, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz and Lexus.

The Volvo Cars group manufactures its vehicles in Sweden, USA, Belgium and China. There are also assembly plants in India and Malaysia. Some parts are manufactured separately in Sweden and China. & Nbsp; Research and development is carried out in Gothenburg in Sweden, Camarillo in the United States and Shanghai, and design offices are located in Gothenburg and Camarillo. Volvo has 2,500 dealerships in 100 countries around the world, 60% of its products are sold in Europe, 30% in North America and the remaining 10% in the rest of the world.
