UAZ - Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, founded in 1941, which is part of the Sollers concern. Built on the basis of the production equipment of the ZIS plant, it produces SUVs, minibuses and light trucks.
The first developments of the plant concerned trucks, and UlZIS-253 was produced as the first model. In the following years, the company assembled GAZ trucks. And only in 1958, the plant began to develop and produce UAZ vehicles, these were versions: 450 van, 450A ambulance 450D truck. The following year, UAZ vehicles entered the world market.
The first off-road vehicles UAZ-469 rolled off the assembly line in 1972. And in 1985 they began to produce a modernized version of the model with the index 3151. Developed a car for transporting people and goods on various types of roads. The machines were equipped with: a hydraulic drive for disengaging the clutch, lighting devices, suspended clutch and brake pedals, an UMZ-417 engine, with a capacity of 90 horsepower paired with a 4-speed gearbox. The maximum speed that the SUV developed was 120 km / h.
Since the beginning of the 2000s, they began to produce a more elongated version of the UAZ-3162 Simbir.
UAZ-3163 Patriot replaced the Simbir model in a modernized version. It was an all-wheel drive vehicle with all-terrain capability, more comfortable, with a complete set of foreign elements and parts that were produced in joint ventures. We released various modifications of the model, the main ones of which are:
- UAZ Patriot Diesel - was equipped with a turbodiesel from Fiat Ducato, with a volume of 2.3 liters and an operating power of 116 hp. Compliant with Euro-3 standards, with a fuel consumption of 9.5 liters per 100 km. Later, after modernization, the model was equipped with a domestic diesel engine, turbocharged ZMZ-51432, in accordance with Euro-4. This model is not currently produced.
- UAZ Cargo is a pickup truck based on the UAZ-3163. It is capable of speeds up to 135 km / h, and the consumption is 12 liters. It was equipped with a 2.7 liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 128 hp. Included was a Dymos 5-speed manual gearbox. In 17, production stopped.
- UAZ Pickup is a 5-seater pickup based on the same UAZ-3163.
- UAZ Patriot Sport - produced for half a year, and provided for 2 complete sets of the engine: a gasoline engine ZMZ-40904 with a volume of 2.7 liters and a capacity of 128 horsepower or a ZMZ-4091 with a capacity of 112 horsepower. It was paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
- UAZ Profi is a rear-wheel drive pickup with a ZMZ-409051 engine, the power of which has been increased to 150 hp.
